INTERNEWSTIMES.COM – Tensions flared in Karachi, Pakistan today as protesters demanding justice for Hezbollah leader Nasrallah clashed with police. The demonstrations, which began peacefully, turned violent when protesters attempted to reach the U.S. Consulate, leading to a confrontation with law enforcement.

Chanting “Death to America” and carrying posters of Nasrallah, the protesters were met with a police cordon. When they attempted to breach the barrier, police responded with tear gas and baton charges, resulting in injuries to seven officers.
Police Deputy Inspector General Asad Raza stated that criminal charges will be filed against those involved in the violence.
