INTERNEWSTIMES.COM – The assassination of Hezbollah’s top leadership has left the Lebanese militant group in a state of uncertainty, according to Jean Marie Kassab, a former political analyst based in Lebanon.

Kassab believes that Israel’s targeted strikes have effectively dismantled Hezbollah’s command structure, leaving them without a clear leader to guide their actions. “Every day we have an assassination,” she said, highlighting the ongoing instability within the group. “Nobody is left to lead. We’re waiting for the appointment of a new secretary-general.”
The Lebanese population is reportedly divided in their response to Nasrallah’s death. While some Hezbollah supporters have taken to the streets in mourning, others have expressed dislike or even hatred for the slain leader.
“Some people are happy, yet they are still afraid of Hezbollah,” Kassab observed, highlighting the complex and often contradictory feelings within Lebanese society.
The impact of these assassinations on Hezbollah’s future remains unclear. However, the group’s weakened leadership and the uncertainty surrounding their next steps have created a volatile situation in Lebanon and the wider region. (Red)
